This Japanese ring size chart covers whole numbers from 1 to 27, and shops in China and South Korea use the same numbers. Find your size in the chart to see what it is called in the US, the UK and Europe. If you don't know your size yet, the ring sizer on our home page can measure it for you.
Japanese ring sizes
Rings in Japan use plain whole numbers, starting at 1 for the smallest, and the standard table goes up to 27. The numbers don't grow in even steps, so a chart is the easy way to match them with other countries' sizes.
The chart gives each Japanese size with its US, UK and European names, and the width across the inside of the ring in millimetres. A ring you already own can be measured straight across with a ruler and matched to that column.
Japanese ring size to US
A Japan 14 is the same ring as a US 7, which is an N½ in the UK and a 54 in Europe. A Japan 11 is a US 6, and a Japan 20 is a US 10, according to the size conversion table. Some US sizes fall between two Japanese numbers, and the chart then shows both.
China ring size to US
Shops in China use the very same numbers as Japan, so a Chinese 14 is a US 7 too. If your ring came from China, find the number from its tag in the chart and read across to the US size.
Korean ring sizes
The same Japanese numbering is used in South Korea too, so if you wear a Korean 16, that works out to an 8 in US sizing and a 57 in European sizing.
Common questions
What does a Japanese ring size 17 equal in the US?
A Japanese 17 is a US 8½, and an 18 in India.
Does the Japanese scale go above 27?
The standard table stops at Japan 27, which is a US 13. For a bigger ring, give the shop your US or European size, which the chart shows for every ring.
How do I turn a Japanese size into a European size?
A European size is simply the distance round the inside of the ring in millimetres. A Japan 14 is 54.4 mm round, so it is a European 54.
