Privacy notice
This page sets out the information Meridian Gauge LLC ("we") gathers when you visit ring-size-tool.com, and what you can do about it.
Information we collect
You won't be asked for your name, your email address or any other personal details, and no cookies are set. As with any site, our hosting provider stores routine server logs: which page was requested, when, your IP address and browser type. These logs serve just two purposes: keeping the site running and counting visits.
The site's own script also sends us a short note when a page is opened, when you stay on it for a few seconds, when you follow a link to another website, and the first time you use the sizer or converter. The note says which page it was, whether the screen is a phone or a computer, the site you came from, and for the tools only which way you measured (ring, finger or size converter). We also keep the country (and for the US the state) that your connection comes from, but not the IP address itself. The note never includes the numbers you type, and nothing in it identifies you. It goes only to us, never to an analytics or advertising company.
Local settings on your device
To keep you from starting over next time, the sizer stores a few settings in local browser storage. They stay on your device and never go anywhere else:
- rst.ppm: the card match, so circles are drawn at their real size
- rst.mode: ring or finger, whichever you used last
- rst.mm: the width of the last ring you checked
- rst.cv: the length of your last paper strip
- rst.paper: your paper choice (Letter or A4) for printing
To remove them at any time, clear the stored data for this site in your browser's settings.
Selling and sharing your data
As for personal information, we do not sell or share it, and it is not used for targeted advertising. We don't partner with anyone for advertising or analytics.
State privacy rights in the US
Living in California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah or Texas gives you the right to know what personal information about you we hold. You can ask us to delete or correct it and opt out of the sale or sharing of it. Using these rights won't lead to different treatment. Send any request by email to hello@ring-size-tool.com, and you will hear back within 45 days.
Children
This site is not meant for children under 13, and we never knowingly collect their information.
